At Sonrisa Culinary School of the Arts and Bakery, we believe in the transformative power of education and skill-building to create brighter futures for marginalized women and girls in Uganda. Our mission is to provide tools, in a Christian environment, and opportunities needed to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy, in hopes to avoid forced marriages, through education.

Our Cause

In many parts of Uganda, young girls are often forced into arranged marriages at a young age, depriving them of their childhood, education, and dreams. Poverty and lack of access to education exacerbate this issue, leaving many girls with limited options and little control over their own lives.

Our Solution

Sonrisa Culinary School and Bakery offers a solution by providing culinary arts education and vocational training to women and girls in Uganda. By equipping them with valuable culinary skills, we empower them to pursue meaningful careers and economic independence. Through our programs, these girls gain confidence, knowledge, and a sense of purpose, enabling them to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
